Initial Chiropractic Consultation and Evaluation

Dr. Pence will review your medical and health history and perform a chiropractic examination.

Dr. Pence will then present his findings and recommendations. It is important for us that you understand your condition and how we may be able to help. Therefore, we invite you to ask as many questions as you like.

(Dr. Pence will refer you to an appropriate health care provider, if your condition falls outside our scope of practice or if other treatment is more appropriate for you.)

Chiropractic Adjustment (To Align the Spine & Elsewhere)

Dr. Pence helps with pain relief, both in managing pain and eliminating it, through Corrective Chiropractic Care using specialized techniques and equipment.

Greenbrier Chiropractic Center offers full spine and extremity manual adjustments as well as gentle and highly specific adjustments using the hand-held Integrator instrument. Additional adjusting methods may include flexion distraction and drop-table techniques. Most adjustments are performed on specialized tables with the patient in a lying position. Occasionally, it is beneficial to adjust the patient while they are seated or standing.

We find it important to address all extremity problems, especially foot, ankle and knee imbalances as they all relate back to the spine. If these are not addressed, the spinal issue will never correct.

Nutritional Support for the Chiropractic Case

Nutritional deficiencies are widespread.

Dr. Pence may recommend organic nutritional supplementation and dietary modifications to support and speed-up the correction of your spinal condition. It is common sense that improvement of nutritional status (if needed) will accelerate the healing process.

He may also recommend specific joint repair or natural anti-inflammatory supplements during the initial treatment and acute pain situations.

Many chronic pain cases benefit from a targeted nutritional evaluation. Chronic painful conditions are frequently perpetuated by “burdens”, such as accumulated toxic chemicals or heavy metals. Other burdens or stressors include food sensitivities, hidden immune challenges and even scars on the body’s surface. Fortunately, these burdens, if present, can be addressed by a targeted nutritional approach.

Occasionally, through your initial Chiropractic Evaluation, Dr. Pence may determine that your condition is primarily a nutritional problem. This means that your chiropractic complaint is likely secondary to a nutritional deficiency. Such deficiencies can create an underlying glandular or an organ system weakness that perpetuates your complaint. In this case, he may recommend a comprehensive nutritional evaluation may to determine if you are a candidate for a nutritional healing program.

Greenbrier Chiropractor Center can provide a custom12-week nutritional program based on an in-depth understanding of your individual needs. The program will include specific nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to assist your return to optimal health.

Nutrition Response Testing

The nervous system regulates the body functions for every organ.

Nutrition Response Testing is a non-invasive system employed to test neurological reflexes. Neurological reflexes can communicate how your nervous system is doing and can be used to help discover underlying causes of non-optimal health. The testing includes organs, glands, joints, and muscles.

Since we directly use the body for analysis, there are also no huge expensive machines, no drugs, surgery, needles, or laboratory fees to cover.

The procedure is simple and direct and can help determine the following:

1. Your non-optimal or weakened body areas;

2. What nutritional deficiencies or burdens may be present (including toxins and immune challenges);

3. The nutritional support and dietary modifications that can help correct the weakened or non-optimal area.

The body responds to the procedure reliably and consistently. This feedback is so precise that it opens the door to a safe and lasting recovery, even in cases where everything else has failed.

Following your consultation and evaluation, you will be given the results in a way that you can understand, with a designed, customized nutritional program to follow.

Therapeutic Exercises

Your health problems are unique to you. We design Special “blueprint” exercise programs to strengthen and correct your physical situation. Our supervised exercises may include the use of a vibrating platform. The platform magnifies by 4 to 6 times the neuromuscular effect of the exercise being performed, thus more workout in less time. You can do many exercises in the comfort of your own home to improve your spinal correction effectiveness.

Acupuncture Based Therapies

Acupuncture-based therapies can assist in reducing pain and discomforts as part of your health improvement program. These therapies may involve manual treatment of acupuncture points and pathways.

We commonly use Acupressure Stress Elimination Technique (ASET) to support and balance the area of complaint and the adrenals, also known as the “stress” glands. We find this especially helpful when addressing chronic pain, sleep difficulty and stubborn weight loss issues.

Neuromuscular Re-Education and Localized Massage Therapy

We use a variety of manual soft-tissue mobilization and muscle and joint balancing techniques at GCC. These methods are generally used as an adjunct to chiropractic adjustment to increase effectiveness.

Low-Level Laser Therapy

Just as sunlight enters a plant cell to create photosynthesis, light emitted from a laser can enter a human cell and enhance metabolic processes and healing. At GCC we commonly use LLLTH to treat body surface, scars, burns, and skin problems. When applied more deeply, LLLTH helps treat musculoskeletal sprains and strains such as tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), bursitis, rotator cuff injuries, and many other itises.

Kinesio Taping

K-taping is a relatively new way of supporting injured tissues and joints without restricting joint movement. It is designed to aid circulation, improve lymphatic flow, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. It is safe for all ages and wearable for days – so the process provides a lasting therapeutic effect while outside our office.
